Year that all marked the arrival of the Internet and to the explosion of computer science in the world.  It can be considered ‘the Cup’.  The Cup of the Redemption, the Cup of the four times champion, the Cup of the end and others. It was  24 years had been waiting for award.  An entire generation of the supporting that never had seen Brazil Champion of the World, and another that was badly remembered the last award.

And the award could not come in more dramatic way, in an unknown decision in the penalties, against Italy, the same one of the elimination of 1982.

The lesson of 1982 had been, at last, learned.  A competitive game was formed, exactly not playing spectacularly, the team commanded mainly for the forward Romário was better than four years ago, again with soccer stars that played in many European countries.  It could say, that this game was formed exclusively to gain the Cup.

This Cup had many good moments, that in a summary I list here: 
- the eighth-of-end, against the owners of the house, U.S.A., in full holiday of the Day of the Independence of the country, with a Brazilian player (Leonardo), banished for aggression. 
- the great game of the Cup, the fourth-of-end against Holland, looser with a goal of lack charged for Branco, that entered exactly in the place of Leonardo. 
- and, certainly, the end against Italy, that if dragged without goals, until the decision for penalties.

This Cup finished also serving, as a landmark, where the game left of being the team of the spectacle, to become the team to be beaten.
